Artist's Statement My art is embedded in the natural world and humankind's connection with it. I am moved and inspired not only by the visual beauty and wonder of the forms which surround me, but also by the dynamics of the processes through which these forms have developed. Fundamental to much of my work is an exploration of time and what happens through time. I am also fascinated by the traces which remain in the 'here and now' which hint at past events. I am a mixed-media artist and use whatever materials I feel are appropriate to the ideas I am working with at any given time. The main focus of my creative activity has been landscape and anthropology, landscape/wildlife and change, natural sound, music, dynamic processes of change and the nature of the psyche. The colour worlds which develop as I work are visual memories drawn from sensual encounters with landscapes I have known.
